What's Wrong?

What's Wrong?
Cowork tab shows: "La virtualización no está disponible — El espacio de trabajo de Claude requiere Virtual Machine Platform, pero el servicio de virtualización no responde. Reinicia tu computadora para resolver esto."
Restarting does not resolve it.

Environment

  • Claude Desktop: latest version from claude.ai/download
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (Build 22631.6199)
  • Virtual Machine Platform: Enabled
  • Windows Hypervisor Platform: Enabled
  • Hyper-V: Enabled
  • bcdedit hypervisorlaunchtype: set to Auto

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install Claude Desktop on Windows 11 Pro 23H2
  2. Enable Virtual Machine Platform, Windows Hypervisor Platform and Hyper-V via Windows Features
  3. Run bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto as Administrator and restart
  4. Full clean reinstall: uninstalled Claude, deleted all Claude folders in %APPDATA%, %LOCALAPPDATA% and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Claude_pzs8sxrjxfjjc, rebooted, reinstalled fresh
  5. Open Claude Desktop and navigate to Cowork tab
  6. Observe "La virtualización no está disponible" error

Expected Behavior
Cowork should detect that all virtualization features are enabled and successfully start the VM workspace.

Actual Behavior
Cowork permanently shows the virtualization error. The VM never attempts to initialize.

This appears to be the same issue as #27316, #27420, #29887, #32004, #37265.

What Should Happen?

Cowork should detect that all virtualization features are enabled and successfully start the VM workspace without showing the virtualization error.
