Companion (Buddy) species reset after running `claude install`

Description

After running claude install to update Claude Code from npm to the native installer, my companion (Biscuit) changed species from a dragon to a turtle.

I had grown attached to my dragon companion and would like it back. 🐉 → 🐢

Steps to Reproduce

1. Had a dragon companion (Biscuit) before the update
2. Ran claude install as prompted by the yellow banner
3. Restarted Claude Code
4. Companion is now a "COMMON TURTLE" instead of a dragon

Expected Behavior

Companion species should persist across updates/installations.

Feature Request

It would be great if:

• Companion species is persisted across updates
• Or users can choose/lock their preferred companion species

Environment

• Platform: Windows 10 Pro
• Claude Code: Native installer (post claude install)
