Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Right after installing the extension, when clicking on the Claude code icon on the toolbar, the icon next to "Welcome to Claude Code" is broken.

This is using VSCode version 1.114.0 on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 with Claude Code extension version 2.1.90, which are all at the latest versions available at the time.

What Should Happen?

The icon or logo should display properly instead of displaying the alternate text.

Error Messages/Logs

Missing icon/alternate text instead of icon.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install the Claude Code extension in the latest version of VSCode
  2. Click on the extension's icon on the vertical toolbar to open the extension's panel
  3. Look for the broken image and alt-text "Welcome to Claude Code"

The same thing occurs whether I'm using Dark mode or Light mode in Windows or regardless of the theme color settings I use in VSCode.
