Max 20x ($200/mo) plan - session limits depleting abnormally fast
Environment
- Plan: Max 20x ($200/month)
- Tool: Claude Code CLI (VS Code extension)
- Model: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context)
Problem
Session limits are being depleted abnormally fast. Previously, I could use Claude Code for 8+ hours in a session, but now the limit is hit within approximately 1 hour of usage.
The message "You've hit your session limit - resets in 3h" appears frequently, making it very difficult to complete ongoing development work.
Details
- Weekly total usage also feels significantly reduced, despite the official statement that "weekly limits remain unchanged"
- Usage meter sometimes jumps from under 50% to 100% within a single prompt
- This issue has become noticeably worse recently
- Subagent usage (which is a core feature of Claude Code) seems to consume limits disproportionately fast
Impact
As a paying $200/month subscriber, the current rate limiting makes it nearly impossible to do sustained development work. The value proposition of the Max 20x plan is severely undermined when session limits are exhausted this quickly.
Expected Behavior
Session limits should allow for sustained multi-hour development sessions, consistent with what was available previously on the same plan tier.
