[BUG] No option to disable Grime companion blob

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 2, 2026 by kjjurgen Closed Apr 5, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The Grime companion blob appears beside the input box in every session and persists across new terminal windows. There is no toggle in /config (checked both Config and Status tabs) to disable or dismiss it. Once it appears, there's no way to turn it off. Running version 2.1.90, Claude Max Account, macOS.

What Should Happen?

There should be a toggle in /config to enable or disable the companion, so users can choose whether it appears. Closing a session or opening a new terminal should not carry it over unless the user has opted in.
