[FEATURE] Buddy re-hatching as a token usage milestone reward

Problem Statement

Currently, your buddy species is permanently assigned to your account with no way to change it. If you're not happy with
your species, there's nothing you can do — which reduces the excitement around the buddy feature and feels like a missed
opportunity for user engagement and retention.

Proposed Solution

Introduce periodic re-hatching opportunities based on token usage milestones:

• Token-based milestones: After consuming a certain amount of tokens (e.g., every 1M or 5M tokens), the user earns a new

hatch chance

• Keep or re-roll: The user can choose to either keep their current buddy or re-roll for a new random species
• Gamification: This adds a collectible layer to Claude Code — users have something to look forward to as they use the

product

• Natural incentive: Tying the reward directly to token consumption makes it a built-in engagement and monetization driver

This would make the buddy system feel alive and rewarding rather than a one-time static assignment.
