Voice dictation drops words/sentences intermittently on Linux

Description

Voice input frequently drops words, cuts off sentences, or reports "no speech detected" on Linux CLI.

Environment

• Claude Code 2.1.87
• Ubuntu (Wayland, GNOME)
• PipeWire 1.0.5
• Blue Yeti mic (works perfectly with system recorder and sox)
• sox installed

Steps to reproduce

1. Use voice input in CLI
2. Speak a full sentence
3. Transcription is missing words or entire phrases

Troubleshooting done

• System sound recorder captures audio perfectly
• rec (sox) captures audio perfectly
• Tried different gain levels
• Tried different mics (Kiyo webcam, Yeti)
• Issue is specific to CC's voice pipeline, not the audio stack
