Feature Request: Vietnamese Language Support for Claude Code Voice Mode

Problem

Claude Code CLI has a voice feature that allows users to speak commands and have responses read aloud. However, Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt) is not currently supported as a voice language. Many Vietnamese developers use Claude Code daily and would benefit greatly from voice interaction in their native language.

Motivation

• Growing Vietnamese developer community: Vietnam has a large and rapidly growing developer community actively using Claude Code CLI for daily coding workflows.
• Voice mode accessibility: The voice feature in Claude Code is powerful, but without Vietnamese support, it is unusable for Vietnamese-speaking developers who prefer voice interaction.
• ~100 million speakers: Vietnamese is spoken by approximately 100 million people worldwide — it deserves representation in voice-enabled AI tools.
• Tonal language consideration: Vietnamese has 6 tones, making accurate speech recognition critical. Proper support would demonstrate Claude's commitment to linguistic diversity.

Requested Feature

Add Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt) as a supported language in Claude Code's voice mode:

1. Speech-to-Text (STT): Recognize Vietnamese speech input so developers can dictate commands, describe code changes, and ask questions in Vietnamese.
2. Text-to-Speech (TTS): Generate natural-sounding Vietnamese voice output for Claude's responses.
3. Mixed-language support: Many Vietnamese developers mix Vietnamese and English (especially technical terms). Ideally, the voice mode should handle code-switching gracefully.

Use Cases

• A Vietnamese developer asking Claude Code to explain a function in Vietnamese
• Dictating commit messages or PR descriptions in Vietnamese
• Hands-free coding assistance while reviewing code on another screen
• Accessibility for developers who prefer spoken interaction

Additional Context

Vietnamese developers are among the most active Claude Code users in Southeast Asia. Adding Vietnamese voice support would significantly improve their developer experience and strengthen Claude Code's position in the region.
