What's Wrong?

"Claude in Chrome" extension cannot connect to Claude Code CLI
Token mismatch between extension and CLI session
Previously troubleshot for hours, confirmed it's a server-side issue

What Should Happen?

Claude code should able to use google chrome.

Error Messages/Logs

⚠️ Claude in Chrome is not connected
The Chrome extension isn't reachable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install "Claude in Chrome" extension from Chrome Web Store
  2. Open Claude Code CLI (v2.1.81) on Windows 11
  3. Click extension icon → Click "Connect"
  4. Extension shows connected, but CLI tools (tabs_context_mcp) return "not connected"
  5. Tried switch_browser tool — still not connected
  6. Previously spent 2+ hours troubleshooting with Claude — concluded token mismatch between extension and CLI session
