What's Wrong?
"Claude in Chrome" extension cannot connect to Claude Code CLI
Token mismatch between extension and CLI session
Previously troubleshot for hours, confirmed it's a server-side issue
What Should Happen?
Claude code should able to use google chrome.
Error Messages/Logs
⚠️ Claude in Chrome is not connected
The Chrome extension isn't reachable.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install "Claude in Chrome" extension from Chrome Web Store
- Open Claude Code CLI (v2.1.81) on Windows 11
- Click extension icon → Click "Connect"
- Extension shows connected, but CLI tools (tabs_context_mcp) return "not connected"
- Tried switch_browser tool — still not connected
- Previously spent 2+ hours troubleshooting with Claude — concluded token mismatch between extension and CLI session
