[BUG]

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Mar 25, 2026 by Blomkamp76 Closed Mar 28, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude Code in Cowork disconnects immediately when sending messages over SSH. Was working fine until ~March 18. Local Cowork sessions work fine. Regular Claude Code over SSH works fine. Tried reinstall, cache clear — no fix.

What Should Happen?

Claude should maintain a stable connection when sending messages over SSH, as it did prior to ~March 18, 2025. Messages should be sent and processed normally without the session disconnecting.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Desktop app
  2. Start a Cowork session connecting to a remote SSH server
  3. SSH connection establishes successfully
  4. Type any message in the command prompt and press Enter
  5. Connection drops immediately

Note: This was working fine until approximately March 18, 2025. Nothing changed on my end (same server, same setup, same network).

Additional testing:

  • Local (non-SSH) Cowork sessions work fine
  • Regular Claude Code over the same SSH connection works fine
  • Tried: full reinstall, cache/data clear, latest Claude Desktop version — issue persists
