Status bar shows wrong effort level after /effort max

Description

After running /effort max, the status bar still displays [high] instead of [max]. The effort change is acknowledged in the response ("Set effort level to max"), but the persistent status line at the bottom of the terminal is not updated to reflect it.

Steps to reproduce

1. Start a Claude Code session (Opus 4.6, 1M context)
2. Run /effort max
3. Observe the status bar at the bottom — it still shows [high]

Expected behavior

Status bar should update to [max] after changing effort level.
