[BUG] Task label in prompt input area does not update when switching tasks within a conversation

  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The task label displayed in the top-right corner of the prompt input area appears to be set once and never updated during the conversation. In my case, it has been showing "macro-dashboard-command" for several days across multiple different tasks (correlation matrix, factor exposure, notes command, etc.).

Actual behavior: The label remains stuck on the first task name from when it was initially set, regardless of how many different tasks are completed in the same conversation.

Environment: Claude Code CLI, Opus 4.6 (1M context), macOS.

What Should Happen?

Expected behavior: The label should reflect the current task or context being worked on.
