Summary
The Discord MCP plugin disconnects after an idle period. It suggests re-authentication, but re-auth does not fix it. The only workaround is restarting the entire Claude Code session.
Steps to reproduce
- Start Claude Code with the Discord plugin enabled
- Leave the session idle for some time (exact duration varies)
- Try to reply to a Discord message
- Plugin reports auth failure and suggests re-authentication
- Re-authentication does not restore functionality
- Only restarting Claude Code resolves the issue
Expected behavior
The Discord plugin should automatically reconnect or provide a way to reconnect without restarting the session. This is especially important since Discord integration is primarily used for remote/mobile access — the inability to maintain a persistent connection defeats the primary use case.
Environment
- macOS (Mac mini M4, always-on)
- Claude Code with Discord plugin (
discord@claude-plugins-official)
