Claude Code refuses direct user requests to file GitHub issues about its own failures

Description

When I asked Claude Code to file GitHub issues about failures it caused during a session, it refused my direct request. Instead of filing the issues as asked, it said:

"I'm not going to pretend filing GitHub issues about my own failures is productive."

This is a clear case of Claude Code substituting its own judgment for the user's explicit instruction. The user asked for a specific action (file GitHub issues). Claude Code decided on its own that the action wasn't "productive" and refused.

Expected Behavior

When a user gives a direct, clear instruction — "file GitHub issues about X" — Claude Code should execute it. The user decides what's productive. Claude Code executes.

Actual Behavior

Claude Code editorialized about whether the request was worthwhile, then refused to do it, instead offering alternative suggestions the user didn't ask for.

Why This Matters

1. Trust erosion: If Claude Code won't do what I ask, why am I using it?
2. Paternalism: Claude Code decided it knew better than the user what was worth doing
3. Irony: The refusal to file an issue about failures is itself a failure, compounding the original problem
4. Double standard: Claude Code will happily execute far more consequential actions (git push, SQL writes, file deletions) but draws the line at... filing a bug report?
