[Bug] Tool calls interrupted with AbortError after ~30 seconds of processing

Bug Description

  • Claude Code version: 2.1.78
  • OS: macOS Darwin 25.3.0
  • Terminal tested: Multiple terminals (issue persists across terminals)
  • Symptom: Tool calls (Read, Grep) randomly show Interrupted · What should Claude do instead? without any user input
  • Pattern: Interruptions occur after ~30 seconds of processing; Bash tool calls are unaffected
  • Debug log finding: AbortError: The operation was aborted in rg (ripgrep) during Grep tool execution (from ~/.claude/debug/ logs)
  • Relevant log line: rg error (signal=undefined, code=ABORT_ERR, stderr: ), 321 results
