[Feature Request] Auto-Compact should preserve conversation history visibility instead of deleting it

Question

**Feature Description**
My biggest criticism is that claude code deletes the history of the conversation when compacting. codex/chatgpt that is way worse than claude doesn't do this. it keeps the history of the conversation open, it just compacts it but you can still read what you were talking with it. this should be the default of claude, you should be able to see what were you talking even after compaction.
