[BUG] Connector logout on every Claude Code desktop app upgrade (Windows 11)

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Every time the Claude Code desktop app is updated/upgraded, all connectors are logged out and need to be manually reconnected. This happens consistently after each app update — connector sessions are not preserved across upgrades.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have one or more connectors configured and authenticated in Claude Code desktop app.
  2. Receive and apply an update to the Claude Code desktop app.
  3. After the update, open the app — all connectors show as disconnected/logged out.
  4. Must manually re-authenticate each connector to restore functionality.

This is unexpected behavior and is quite disruptive when using multiple connectors.

What Should Happen?

Connector authentication and session data should be preserved across app updates. Users should not need to re-authenticate or reconnect any connectors after installing a Claude Code update.

  • This issue occurs consistently on every app update — connector sessions are cleared each time the app upgrades. Users must manually re-authenticate connectors after each update, which is disruptive and unexpected.
