  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The Claude in Chrome (Beta) extension consistently fails to connect to Claude Desktop with the error: "The Chrome extension needs to be signed in with the same account as Claude Desktop."

However, both the Chrome extension and Claude Desktop are signed in with the exact same account (jariya@nextrocket.co.th). The accounts match but the error persists.

What Should Happen?

The extension should connect successfully to Claude Desktop without any errors, since both are signed in with the same account.

Error Messages/Logs

Error dialog title: "Check your Claude in Chrome account"
Error message: "The Chrome extension needs to be signed in with the same account as Claude Desktop. Open the extension, sign in if needed, and make sure the accounts match. If you've just installed the extension, try restarting Chrome."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Claude in Chrome (Beta) extension
  2. Sign in to the extension with the same account as Claude Desktop
  3. Open Claude Desktop (Code tab)
  4. Claude Desktop attempts to connect to the browser extension
  5. Error dialog appears: "Check your Claude in Chrome account"
  6. Clicking "Open Extension Settings" confirms both are using the same account

Additional Information

Both Claude Desktop and the Chrome extension are signed in with the same account (jariya@nextrocket.co.th). The error persists despite:

  • Logging out and back in to the extension multiple times
  • Reinstalling the extension multiple times
  • Restarting Chrome multiple times
  • Verifying accounts match on both sides

This issue was reported with assistance from Claude Code (claude-sonnet-4-6) running inside Claude Desktop.
