[BUG] MacOS: shift + option + left/right arrow no longer moves cursor by 1 word at a time

What's Wrong?
Normally when I chat with Claude Code, I constantly use shift + option + left/right arrows to jump cursor one word back/forward, make edits etc. Today, in all my new claude code sessions, this no longer works. The cursor only moves 1 character at a time.
Claude Code version 2.1.72, running in iterm2, MacOS.
What Should Happen?
When focused in my chat message, shift + option + left/right keys should jump my cursor by 1 word back/forward as God intended.
