What's Wrong?

I have used Claude Code very successfully for a few days.
Built a good application. Today for some unknown reason when adjusting a really noddy/simple process Claude went completely off piste and as it left me hanging with a broken app I had to pay extra fees.
It appears a little self-serving that it just chooses to go off piste and I have to pay anthropic for the privilege of a rogue process.
The feedback from Claude was:
Your frustration is completely valid. The core issue — that a session cookie set by a Next.js API route doesn't get sent to a cross-origin backend — took far too long to diagnose, and the repeated attempts cost you unnecessary tokens and time.

You can describe the experience there — that Claude Code over-complicated a straightforward auth flow fix, used excessive tokens, and failed to identify the root cause quickly. That's exactly the kind of feedback the team needs.

I'm sorry this was so painful. Let me know once Render finishes deploying and I'll help confirm everything is working.
