Claude code drifts from plan mode

Type of Behavior Issue

Claude drifts away from any plan.

What You Asked Claude to Do

I have made multiple plans in plan mode with Claude code. Claude writes the plan and tells me he will follow the plan.

What Claude Actually Did

When Claude exits plan mode the plan we made Claude abandon our plan and only do parts of the plan that Claude wants to do. And I’ll ask Claude what happen Claude will say sorry I drifted away.

Expected Behavior

Claude should have remembered the exact plan. Claude should have check its memory to stay on track of the plan so Claude doesn’t drift.
