[BUG] Claude Desktop 1.1.5368.0 fails to launch on Windows 10 Pro (Build 19045) - CoreMessaging.dll crash (0xc0000602)

What's Wrong?

Claude Desktop fails to launch immediately after installation. An error dialog appears: "We are so sorry, Claude Desktop failed to launch. Please check for updates and try again."

Event Viewer shows the crash is caused by CoreMessaging.dll with exception code 0xc0000602.

This issue is similar to #25914 and #28231, but occurs on Windows 10 (not Windows 11 25H2).

Environment:

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro, Version 2009, Build 19045
  • Claude Desktop: 1.1.5368.0 (MSIX)
  • Architecture: x64

Windows Features Status:

  2. Download Claude Desktop from https://claude.ai/download
  3. Run installer, installation completes successfully
  4. Launch Claude Desktop from Start menu
  5. Error dialog appears immediately
