Feedback: Estimated Time-to-Completion for Tasks

Title: Feature-Request: show estimated time-to-Completion for in-progress Tasks

When Claude-Code is executing a multi-step Task (file-creation, refactoring, search-and-replace across many files, etc.), the user currently has no indication of how long the remaining-Work will take.

Request: Display an estimated time-to-Completion (or progress-Percentage) in the CLI during long-running Operations. This could be based on the number of remaining-Steps, file-count, or token-budget consumed vs. estimated-Total.

Why this matters:

  • Users working on large-scale Tasks (e.g., restructuring 22 files across 5 directories) cannot plan their time without knowing whether the operation will take 30 seconds or 10 minutes.
  • Even a rough-Estimate ("~2 min remaining") would significantly improve the user-Experience.
  • The statusline feature (already available in settings.json) would be a natural place to display this information.
