Custom status line flickers when pasting text

Custom status line flickers/re-renders when pasting (Cmd+V) text into the input box, making the UI feel janky.

Not an issue in 2.1.32. Present in 2.1.68 (not sure which version introduced it).

Steps to reproduce

1. Configure a custom status line in ~/.claude/settings.json
2. Start Claude Code (2.1.68)
3. Cmd+V to paste text into the input box
4. Observe status line flickering during the paste

Expected behavior

Status line should remain stable during paste, like it does in 2.1.32.

Environment

• macOS 15.6.1
• Claude Code 2.1.68
• Terminal: Apple Terminal
