[BUG] USAGE BUG, opus drains sonnet usage URGENT FIX NEEDED

What's Wrong?

Found a massive blocker / bug in Claude Code.
If you run out of Opus usage, the session cap completely locks you out of Sonnet too.???

I have 98% of my weekly Sonnet allowance remaining, but I'm entirely locked out.

Paying $200+ to be denied access to resources I haven't even touched is incredibly frustrating and sad. :(

is a fix coming for this? (And honestly, the 5-hour session caps need a rework if they make hitting the weekly limit impossible anyway).

What Should Happen?

I should be able to model switch to sonnet, and it should work perfectly fine and allow me to stay within my usage limits.

Error Messages/Logs

Error: You're out of extra usage · resets 1:30am (Asia/Calcutta)

Steps to Reproduce

Use all of your Opus limits and then try to use /model to switch to Sonnet, thinking oh i have loads of usage there but bug denies it ? and just says usage limit reached - come back later??
