What's Wrong?

Bug Description

Remote Control is not enabled for my Claude Max account, despite being an eligible user.

Error Message

Error: Remote Control is not enabled for your account. Contact your administrator.

Environment

  • Claude Code Version: 2.1.62
  • Platform: macOS (Darwin)
  • Plan: Claude Max
  • Authentication: OAuth (claude.ai account via /login)
  • Last Login: Feb 27, 2026

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login with claude /login (Max plan account)
  2. Navigate to project directory
  3. Run claude remote-control or /remote-control

Expected Behavior

Remote Control session should start and display a QR code and session URL, as documented for Max plan users.

Actual Behavior

Error message appears: "Remote Control is not enabled for your account. Contact your administrator."

Attempts Made

✓ Updated Claude Code to latest version (2.1.62)
✓ Ran claude auth logout then claude /login multiple times
✓ Restarted terminal and Claude Code
✓ Verified Max plan subscription is active
✓ Confirmed authentication with claude /status shows correct plan

Additional Context

  • This appears to be similar to issues #28098, #28884, #28817
  • Feature was announced Feb 24, 2026 as available for Max users
  • Account appears to have correct plan but feature flag may not be enabled

Question

Would it be possible to manually enable Remote Control for this account, or is there a known fix for Max plan users experiencing this issue?
