[BUG] `claude` command leads to error

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Feb 26, 2026 by Atacalc Closed Apr 4, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I'm running Claude on a Mac M1 Mini. I'm attempting to run the Claude "complete course", and have opened it up via the Cursor app, as per instructions.

When I type in claude I get the following error message: Error: Input must be provided either through stdin or as a prompt argument when using --print

I've run through all of the troubleshooting that the AI recommended. I am running the most recent version of Claude, and do not have any other versions of Claude on my computer. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Claude. Attempting to do this via Terminal without Cursor gives the same result.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on what to do. I am a Terminal neophyte. Thank you.

What Should Happen?

I should be able to access the Claude course.
