[BUG] Cannot Disable Claude Auto-Updater

• Operating System: macOs Sequoai 15.5

Bug Description

If I run npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code@1.0.39 and then claude config set -g autoUpdates disabled

The auto updater still runs as soon as i launch claude code

Steps to Reproduce

Expected Behavior

I expect the auto updater to be disabled

Actual Behavior

The auto updater still runs and updates to 1.0.41
