  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I know this isn't where I should report issues with the desktop Claude app. But IDK where else to do it that devs at Anthropic will actually see it. So here it is.

You know I'm right: Electron based apps suck. They're great for small, performance doesn't really matter, niche apps that could never exist without it. They're awful for apps you spend a lot of time in.

OpenAI at least makes their Mac app native.
Only reason I keep using them.

Honestly, you have Opus, just make native apps. Come on!

What Should Happen?

Anthropic should create native apps for major platforms so that they actually work well and operate how the user expects them to work.

Error Messages/Logs

ERROR 1001: Electron sucks.

Steps to Reproduce

Run Claude. Get annoyed. See it fail often. See UI lag. High CPU usage, etc.
Run the ChatGPT app. It works well. It's fast. It doesn't make you want to punch your keyboard.
