[BUG] claude quits on startup

What's Wrong?

claude quits instantly after starting. using ssh.

What Should Happen?

should not quit and allow the user to write something

  - Broken versions: 2.1.32 and 2.1.39
  - Symptom: Interactive mode, -p, login, setup-token all exit instantly with code 0. --help and doctor work fine.
  - Debug log: /tmp/claude-debug.log (from the 2.1.39 run)
  - Node: v20.20.0 (not relevant since it uses the native binary)
