What's Wrong?
The entire time this app has existed, this feature has been working, but today I am unable to hit Shift+Enter to go to a new line while typing in the chat box. No matter how many times I force quit and re-open Claude, the issue still persists.
What Should Happen?
When you press Shift+Enter, in the text box when you are typing, it should go to a new line without sending the message.
Just like I did here.

This will result in sending the message, rather than going to a new line within the chat box.

Is it me, or did this bug just crop up? I swear that yesterday (2/10/2026) this was working just fine.

good its not just me.. seemed to switch to this bug about half way thru today. i'm on latest, on macOS.
Confirmed: the issue was introduced in version
1.1.2685.Downgrading to
1.1.2512resolves the problem:https://downloads.claude.ai/releases/win32/x64/1.1.2512/Claude-4d27082e7ea0c9cd9a59e334497a9ca397025cc5.exe
Shift+Enter works correctly in the Code tab on that version.
