Bug Description
Max 5x plan subscriber experiencing rate limit errors in Claude Code while claude.ai shows remaining usage. The usage limits should be shared across both platforms, but Claude Code is blocked while the web interface works normally.

Environment Info

  • Platform: linux
  • Terminal: cursor
  • Version: 2.1.37
  • Plan: Max 5x ($100/month)
  • Feedback ID: 1cfabdb2-2d5a-453c-90bd-9b15654231aa

Current Behavior

  • Claude Code: Returns 429 rate_limit_error
  • claude.ai (web): Still has remaining usage and works normally
  • Switched from Opus to Sonnet: Still blocked
  • No weekly usage indicator visible in either UI

Expected Behavior
According to the documentation, "Both Pro and Max plans offer usage limits that are shared across Claude and Claude Code, meaning all activity in both tools counts against the same usage limits."

Both platforms should show the same usage status.

Error Log

[{"error":"Error: 429 {\"type\":\"error\",\"error\":{\"type\":\"rate_limit_error\",\"message\":\"This request would exceed your account's rate limit. Please try again later.\"},\"request_id\":\"req_011CXxbpCVe9qb6Ww7rijjZr\"}\n at generate (/$bunfs/root/claude:316:9006)\n at makeRequest (/$bunfs/root/claude:333:5435)\n at processTicksAndRejections (native:7:39)","timestamp":"2026-02-09T13:48:57.440Z"}]

Additional Context

  • Reset time shown: 2pm (UTC)
  • No ANTHROPIC_API_KEY environment variable set
  • Weekly usage limits are not visible in either claude.ai or Claude Code UI, making it impossible to determine if weekly limit was hit
