What's Wrong?

I created a lengthy prompt in response to a series of clarifying questions from Claude Opus 4.6 in Code on the latest version of the Android app. I was using a brand new Galaxy S23 phone. I had done previous prompts without issue. I typed the prompt and hit send, then I watched Claude begin to think on it for a couple seconds. My prompt appeared with a black background in the feed to indicate it sent. After 5 or 6 seconds I turned off my screen to save battery and walked away for several minutes (probably 20-30 minutes). When I returned and unlocked my phone to see what Claude did it had done nothing. No progress was made and my entire prompt was non-existent. Claude had no recollection of me sending it. This forced me to redo several minutes of prompting and slowed me down considerably. This app is unusable if I can't trust that my prompts go through when I send them. It simply cannot happen. Wasting time is the opposite of the purpose of this app.

What Should Happen?

I recommend at least having a way of saving the text of a previous prompt typed in the prompt bar so if there is some sort of disconnect between client and server the user doesn't both lose their work and the time they expected Claude to be thinking. Maybe save the prompts locally as they are typed up to a certain size or character limit and have a prompt recovery button in this type of situation? Then at the very least the user doesn't have to spend time rethinking and retyping the prompt.
