Chrome extension keeps returning a "not connected" error each time I try

• Windows 11 (build 26200)
• Claude Code CLI with Chrome extension installed
• Registry and native host config verified correct
• No Claude Desktop installed
• Extension present in Default Chrome profile
• Still fails to connect

If i open Chrome, and the extension it works. Just cannot get claude code to work with it at all! If I go /Chrome, it says Status: Enable, Extension: Installed. I can do the "Reconnect extension" and it says successful etc. But if i try to get claude code to open chrome, read anything it says "Claude in Chrome[tabs_context] Tabs read. then:
It looks like the Chrome browser extension isn't connected. To use browser automation, you'll need:

1. Install the Claude browser extension from https://claude.ai/chrome
2. Ensure Chrome is running with the extension active
3. Be logged into claude.ai with the same account as Claude Code
4. You may need to restart Chrome after installation
