[BUG] "Claude Code hangs on login after AI-assisted skill installation"

What's Wrong?

Description:

  • User asked Claude to install a custom skill (microsoft-agents-skill)
  • Claude created the skill files successfully
  • Claude then modified configuration and instructed user to logout/login
  • After logout/login, Claude Code hung indefinitely during login
  • User had to completely uninstall and reinstall Claude Code
  • All history and configuration was lost

Impact: Complete loss of access, requiring full reinstall
