[BUG] Token exchange failed with 503 after auto-update (Max plan, VSCode)

What's Wrong?

Token exchange failed with 503 after auto-update (Max plan, VSCode)
After auto-update on Jan 18, 2026, Claude Code logged out and cannot re-authenticate. Getting "Token exchange failed: Request failed with status code 503" when trying to login with Max subscription.

What Should Happen?

Claude code should login into its account and start working in VSCode

Steps to Reproduce

1. Update to the last version of the Claude Code in VSCode
2. Logout
3. Try to login
