The GitHub plugin (github@claude-plugins-official) shows an OAuth authentication UI but immediately fails with:``SDK auth error: Error: Incompatible auth server: does not support dynamic client registration``

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install the GitHub plugin via /plugin
  2. Attempt to authenticate3. Authentication fails immediately

Workaround: Set GITHUB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN environment variable.
Environment:

  • Claude Code: 2.1.12
  • Platform: Linux
