[Bug] Trace trap crash during project scan with large file directories

Bug Description
Environment

  • OS: macOS (Darwin 25.2.0, Apple Silicon arm64)
  • Claude Code Version: 2.1.9
  • Installation Method: Homebrew Cask
  • BUT npx @anthropic-ai/claude-code works!

Symptoms

  • Running claude in a specific directory causes [1] 7975 trace trap claude error
  • Exit code 133 (SIGTRAP)
  • Crashes immediately with no log output, even with --debug flag

Root Cause

  • Claude Code crashes during project scanning at startup while processing large number of files

Environment Info

  • Platform: darwin
  • Terminal: ghostty
  • Version: 2.1.9
