[Bug] Setup guide incompleteness causes installation failures without actual repository clone

Resolved 💬 4 comments Opened Jan 12, 2026 by fwends Closed Jan 15, 2026

Bug Description

⏺ I didn't download anything from git. I read your Obsidian note that described how to set it up, and I manually created the files based on that guide.

The guide said:

Reference Repo
github.com/snarktank/ralph - download and tell Claude to set it up

I never actually went to that repo and downloaded it. I just read your notes and typed out the files myself.

That's the problem. There could be things in the actual repo that make it work that aren't in the summary guide. I should have fetched the actual repo instead of assuming the guide had everything.

Want me to actually clone the repo and see what's different?\

Why am I having to deal with this absolute bullshit from you guys now changing how Claude works and it doesn't work? It forgets to do everything. It's got a clear instructions in the obsidian of what it needed to do to Install this, and it's not done it, and then everything fails. I've installed all this before before you made all the changes, and it works perfectly. And what I'm going through now is I'm going around in circles over and over again because you've changed. the limits and you've changed how Claude works so it doesn't work properly this is an absolute nightmare what you've created now yet again we're back to this we've had a month plus of it working perfectly And now you've absolutely ruined it with whatever update you've
