Screen flashes white intermittently in Claude Code 2.1.1

Description

The terminal window briefly flashes white during normal conversation. The flash is momentary (split second) and occurs randomly while Claude is responding or idle.

Environment

• Claude Code version: 2.1.1
• macOS: Darwin 25.3.0
• Terminal: Terminal.app
• VisualBell: disabled
• Bell: disabled

Steps to reproduce

1. Start a Claude Code session
2. Have a normal conversation
3. Observe intermittent white flashes on the terminal window

Expected behavior

No screen flashing during normal use.

Actual behavior

Screen flashes white for a split second at random intervals.

Notes

• Did NOT occur before updating to 2.1.1
• No progress bars or spinners active when flashing occurs
• Memory pressure is normal (77% free)
• Flash screen accessibility setting is OFF
