[Feature Request] Support for Claude Max subscription use in OpenCode

What difference does it make to Anthropic if we're using their CLI or another CLI?

We're still paying Anthropic and still constrained by the usage limits.

From a business perspective, that makes very little sense to me. I'm missing the point.

Same problem here – I can't use my Claude Max subscription because the official client has never worked properly (crashes on summarization).

This is such a bad move from Anthropic, let people decide what client they want to use!

Having used both I quickly jumped on OpenCode since its tooling is far superior than Claude Code. The Max subscription costs _at least_ $100 a month, you would think that gives you some freedom of choice to choose the wrapper in which to make use of that subscription.

This is only a good idea if you want to drive people away from your product.

that's the whole business perspective of Anthropic. they offer the subscription at loss so that you use their ecosystem tools. to be used outside their ecosystem they offer the models at a higher api usage cost. why it even worked in the first place with OpenCode is because they hacked around and found a way on how to simulate that requests are coming from "Claude Code". so next time when it stops working you should be putting those feature requests on OC repo instead

Related — I opened #16365 requesting that Anthropic extends their Claude Code subscription auth model (OAuth + rate limiting) to cover OpenClaw and personal agents. This would make most cost-optimization workarounds unnecessary.

Just got access to Claude through the open source programme (thanks), and was excited to try it out, but to find that it doesn't work in Crush (OpenCode) was quite disappointing.

I need to know if the Claude Pro plan is still usable in OpenCode. This is very important to me.

Max seems to be usable in OpenCode. Tried just then.

@Frank-P-Lu The issue is that because it is against their Terms of Service, using Max with OpenCode risks getting your account banned with no refund. So use at your own risk.

It's a shame, because I've found OpenCode to be vastly superior to Claude Code in almost every way, yet we're forced to use Anthropic's high quality models with low quality tooling :-(
