What's Wrong?

When I use Claude Code on the terminal (Ghostty) I get helpful desktop notifications when it needs my input or has completed its response. This is great! However, the Claude Code VSCode extension doesn't show any desktop notifications. This is a bummer.

What Should Happen?

The Claude Code VSCode extension should show desktop notifications for the same scenarios that the terminal app does.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start the Claude Code VSCode extension.
  2. Enter a query that would trigger a desktop notification in the Claude Code terminal app, e.g. presenting the user with multiple options or completing a task.
  3. Observe that no desktop notifications appear.
