Allow disabling automatic updating

While automatic updating would be nice, on immutable systems such as NixOS it can be difficult. Out of the box Claude Code is complaining that it doesn't have permission to automatically update. It would be nice to be able to turn this setting off in specific scenarios like NixOS.
A warning for Claude Code being out of date (at startup?) would still be nice though.
