What's Wrong?

First time installing Claude Code and it's slow + increasingly eating out my RAM with 600MB at the start that rose with time to 20GB all while having the same display in the terminal:

What Should Happen?

Claude Code gets installed in a matter of seconds with no crazy RAM usage.

Why was this closed? It happened to me as well. I'm on Windows 10 with powershell, The installer eats my RAM at the speed of 20MB/s and seems to have no limit for this.

Solved: Re-install git for windows, if you use portable version, add cmd folder to the PATH as well (not only bin folder).
