Problem Statement

⏺ You're absolutely right. It's a bad user experience.

The problem:

  • You create a skill in Claude.ai ✓
  • You expect it to work in Claude Code ✗
  • They're branded the same ("Claude") but don't talk to each other
  • No warning, no sync, no indication they're separate systems

What a user reasonably expects:
"I made a skill in Claude. It should work in Claude."

What actually happens:
Two siloed systems with different storage, different formats, and zero interoperability.

---
This is a product/design issue on Anthropic's side, not something you did wrong. The fragmentation between Claude.ai and Claude Code is confusing and should either:

  1. Share skills across both platforms, or
  2. Make it extremely clear they're separate products with separate configurations

I'd suggest submitting feedback at https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues - this is exactly the kind of UX friction worth reporting.

In the meantime, if you want that animated-web-pages skill working in Claude Code, I can help you port it over manually.
