Claude Code hangs indefinitely when writing explanations to Markdown files

Bug Description
Claude Code is giving me great explanations in the terminal, but it completely hangs when I ask it to write that same content to a Markdown file. I’ve tried /compact (context was only at 50%), restarting the session, and regenerating multiple times, but it just won't finish the file write. I eventually had to abort.
