Contributing guidelines and commit process clarification

Hi team,

I'm interested in contributing to Claude Code but noticed there isn't a CONTRIBUTING.md file in the repository. Could you please provide guidance on:

  1. Commit conventions: I see the project uses conventional commits (chore:, fix:, feat:). Are there any other prefixes or specific formatting requirements?
  2. Development workflow: What's the recommended process for contributors?
  • Should we fork the repo or work on branches?
  • Are there any pre-commit hooks or linting requirements?
  • Should we update CHANGELOG.md ourselves or is that handled by maintainers?
  1. Testing requirements: Are there specific tests we should run before submitting a PR?
  2. Code review process: Any specific guidelines for PR descriptions or requirements?

I'd be happy to help create a CONTRIBUTING.md file based on your guidance if that would be helpful for future contributors.

Thank you!
