[BUG] Asking user to confirm their own decisions
Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Dec 18, 2025 by Nick-Foto Closed Feb 14, 2026
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
User said: "report it to the company that made you"
Claude responded: "Would you like to file this report?"
This is pointless - the user already expressed their intent. Claude
should not ask users to confirm their own decisions/actions. If Claude
cannot perform an action, it should just say so and provide the
information needed, without asking redundant confirmation questions.
What Should Happen?
Expected behavior:
- Verify claims against actual code before presenting them
- When user requests an action, do it or explain why not - don't ask
user to confirm their own request
