[BUG] Extension icon disappeared from primary sidebar after v2.0.70 update in VSCodium 1.106.37943

What's Wrong?

Description

After updating to extension version 2.0.70, the Claude Code icon no longer appears in the VS Code primary sidebar. The extension is enabled and functional (can be accessed via Command Palette), but the sidebar icon is completely missing.

Environment

• VS Code Version: 1.106.37943 (Commit: 03d61e1799ba4597c64a6c0ae65316d95b2c2937)
• Claude Code Version (broken): 2.0.70
• Claude Code Version (working): 2.0.62
• OS: macOS 14.6.0 (Darwin arm64)
• Electron: 37.10.2
• Chromium: 138.0.7204.251

Workaround

Rolling back to version 2.0.62 restores the sidebar icon.

Additional Context

Attempted troubleshooting:

• Restarted VS Code multiple times
• Verified extension is enabled
• Cleared workspace storage
• Reinstalled extension (issue persists on 2.0.70)

What Should Happen?

Expected Behavior

The Claude Code icon should appear in the primary sidebar (left side of VS Code) allowing quick access to the extension.

Actual Behavior

• No Claude Code icon in primary sidebar
• Icon does not appear in right-click sidebar menu
• Extension remains functional via Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P → "Claude Code")
