[Bug] Multiple concurrent Claude Code terminals hang after 2 hours with repeated token usage

Bug Description
when more than one terminal is open with claude, for the last 2 hours all but one ceases to work. just lingers with lots of token usage repeatedly and sending a new message just sits in queue and is overwritten
